Barstow Community Hospital, a 56-bed, acute care facility, is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). Located in the High Desert of California, the hospital offers 24-hour emergency services, medical/surgical rooms, an intensive care unit, OB services, pharmacy and laboratory services, and surgical suites. More than 60 independent physicians and 250 staff members provide a full range of inpatient and outpatient care. Providing big-city technology with small-town customer service has been a focus of Barstow Community Hospital for nearly 50 years and today it offers the latest technology including an Open MRI, a CT scanner, a cardiovascular ultrasound system, a bone densitometer and C-arm fluoroscopy unit.
Description
Responsible for the delivery of patient care that promotes safety and well-being of all patients throughout the organization in the assigned departments on a 24 hour basis. Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care for the patient seeking emergency care based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient's age and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Certifications:
Current California state Registered Nurse license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) Certification.
Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
Current CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) National Certification preferred.
Experience:
2 years prior acute-care experience preferred.
Must be highly motivated and committed to a quality of care that emphasizes the patient first.
