Job Description | • Responsible for identifying the learning needs of the nursing personnel (clinical & academic); facilitating the fulfillment of those needs and evaluating the outcomes • Performance Management focuses on continuous improvement of systems and processes, with special emphasis on client needs against standards and corrective action is taken where necessary |
Requirements | • Graduate of at least 3-year Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing • A current and valid license/registration as a nurse • Diploma/Certificate in Nursing Education is a distinct advantage • Knowledge of current clinical and nursing development • At least 5 years clinical nursing experience with 2 years experience in field of education • BLS, ACLS &/or PALS Instructor experience would be an advantage • Computer literate at intermediate level • Demonstrates technical proficiency in all areas of the training and development function • Previous management experience will be an added advantage • Displays clinical competence in applicable nursing procedures • Displays knowledge and practical application of Adult Learning principles • Creates a positive, safe learning environment for learners and students while guiding the group to achieve learning objectives • Displays solid knowledge of all aspects of Instructional Design (ADDIE model) and the application thereof • Displays sound knowledge of Kirkpatrick model for the evaluation of training • JCIA and Hospital Quality Management System awareness will be an advantage • Fluent in English (speak, read, write) |
Key Outputs | • All new nursing practitioners are orientated according to Mediclinic Middle East policy • Work within a large multi-disciplinary team and utilize established systems of communication with all levels and groups of staff • Knowledge of educational content and appropriate methods of delivery and the ability to develop and facilitate relevant and effective education for learners • Ensure that education provided is based on current findings, evidence based approach, up-to-date research and experience • Providing ongoing evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the educational activities to ensure that they maintain and enhance professional development that promotes the delivery of cost-effective high quality healthcare • Contribute to Risk Management of the hospital • Participate in design and implementation of competency based education programs • General Health Education supported and promoted by liaising and participating with other health care professionals in the UAE • Financial controls are maintained within the unit as delegated • Nursing staff evaluated and trained in defined areas of need, specifically CPR • Professional ethics, Mediclinic values and caring standards are demonstrated in behavior |
